PRs - 3:26 1500, 3:43 mile
If I had been corrupted into taking drugs, I don't think I would have been much faster at 1500. I was running a lot more mileage and doing higher volume workouts than some of my countrymen who took EPO - and in their case EPO only gave them what my hard work gave me. I didn't want any part of their training camps, they didn't want any part of mine.
However, I could speculate that if I had taken EPO I might have bounced back from my injuries quicker and eventually gone on to improve my 5000m PR.

Many variables.
Age, fitness, genes,event.
In other words a 25 year old male who runs track, like the 1500/3000, that is very fit, and has run 3:49 for the 1500, might improve by 4-5 seconds for the same race.
In comparison, take a 35 year old marathoner with a pr of 2:38 that has ramped up hi training and is begining to see reults, he might improve, with the PED over time, by 10-12 minutes.

Good point, I mean dropping 10 minutes in the 1500 would be tough
