As a junior last year, my PR was a 18:07 for 5k.
Junior year summer mileage: 15-20 mpw, 2.5 months
Senior year summer mileage: 25-35mpw, 3 months
This year my first race was a 19:58 for a 5k, then my 2nd race 2 weeks later went down to a 19:02.
Has anybody else started a season drastically slower, then proceed to set new PRs late in the season? I feel as if I will set a sub 18/high 17s come October, but its strange how much speed went away.
