The other day my forerunner 210 would not respond me pressing the stop button at the top right. I had to press very hard for the watch to respond. Anybody else have this problem? What can I do with the watch. I have had it for just over 1 year now.

Have you ever cleaned it?
No, should I?
often letting the battery run out and then resetting it will fix things software related
but your problem sounds like hardware- could be terminal
What would my solution be then?
1. Let the battery drain completely.
2. Recharge the battery.
3. Turn on the watch.
4. See if the watch responds normally.
If the watch is working normally, great.
If the watch is still unresponsive, you will need to decide whether you want to send it to Garmin for repair or replace it with a new watch.
The drain and re-charge steps work if the problem is software related. This basically forces the "frozen" watch to re-boot its operating system, hopefully clearing up whatever conflict caused the watch to freeze.
Given that the watch eventually responded to your button-pushing, the problem appears to be a hardware issue (a faulty button). But, it won't hurt to try.
btw, I've had trouble charging my 610, like a lot of people - the whole power meter running backward, inability to get the watch to receive power - common garmin f'ups. Lord that company needs some better engineers.
What seems to help is if I use the pointy end of a needle or safety pin to scrape a little at the contacts on the back of the watch.
I'm thinking some material builds up on the contacts and needs to be scraped off.
pencil erasers aren't as effective but are less violent.
google some master reset, son
