Gave myself an easier week as I was pretty banged up for most of it and I wanted to feel halfway decent for the marathon simulation run today. The weather wasn’t great this morning (70F, 90% humidity), but I still managed to execute my plan, running 6:32/avg the first 5K, 6:24/avg the second 5K, 6:23/avg from 10K-10mi, and 6:14/avg from 10K to the finish. I actually felt the best during the last 5K, and when I finished I felt like I still had a good amount of running in me.
I also had the chance to meet both cmm268 and RunnersFix this morning. It was nice to put names and faces to both of them. And an early congrats to cmm268 for a well-earned PR in tough conditions. Not quite the goal time you were shooting for, but a PR nonetheless. Well done.
The second half of my training cycle officially starts tomorrow. The real work now begins, haha. :)
Hope everyone else had a great week.
