I'm actually curious as to how many current players should be kicked out of the league based on felony/misdemeanor convictions. Thoughts?

It would look a lot like the general population.
Why should they be kicked out if the have a conviction? Should everyone who has had a felony/misdemeanor conviction lose their job? Why?
Because many, not all, of these players make more money in a week than the average American makes in a whole year. These players are thrust into the public sphere as ambassadors of hard work. Hard work means nothing to me when jail birds get a free pass on serious crime. I divulge my criminal history, or complete lack thereof, on every job application submitted, and job security in most sectors is affected by criminal activity.
There would not be a single owner left standing.
Do you have any idea how much evil sh^t you have to pull to get into the club of NFL owners?

Because of something called the NFL Personal Conduct Policy. An excerpt for your illumination --
"While criminal activity is clearly outside the scope of permissible conduct, and persons who engage in criminal activity will be subject to discipline, the standard of conduct for persons employed in the NFL is considerably higher. It is not enough simply to avoid being found guilty of a crime. Instead, as an employee of the NFL or a member club, you are held to a higher standard and expected to conduct yourself in a way that is responsible, promotes the values upon which the League is based, and is lawful. Persons who fail to live up to this standard of conduct are guilty of conduct detrimental and subject to discipline, even where the conduct itself does not result in conviction of a crime."
That would pale in comparison to the US congress which is a den of
thieves,charlatans,pedophiles,bigots,meth heads.

Discipline does not equal termination.
Lots and lots of clean records of with only two really really bad guys, Ray Rice and Adrian Peterson.

Who claimed otherwise?

Do you have trouble following a conversation? The first poster suggested players should be removed from the league.
I asked why.
You then decide to chip in about the discipline policy. Discipline is not the same as removing them from the league. That is termination.
If you're going to quote people in your replies, at least make sure you're following the conversation. If you want to add in some non-sequiturs, do so without quoting.
I doubt that many players would get kicked out of the league. If you compare the NFL to dangerous jobs like being an iron worker or a fisherman in Alaska the criminal rate is probably similar. I read somewhere the criminal rate was 20 percent. If you factor in that close to half the league were from ghetto neighborhoods with poor role models, the numbers aren't that high to me. I would think if they had a morals clause for players maybe 20 guys would get barred from the league for a 2 time violation. People have to remember the league employs 2000 players.
Are you willing to acknowledge that Black representatives seem to be more corrupt that White ones? Jessie Jackson Jr, Ray Nagan and Kwame Kilpatrick all have been busted in recent years. Shoot even half PR Charles Rangel has been censored for using political contributions illegally...
More than those guys are "thugs". Pacman Jones probably ordered a hit on a bouncer after being thrown out of a strip club. Aaron Hernandez probably will be convicted for murdering up to 3 people. Those are just two off the top of my head...
How many of them have been caught in restroom stalls playing tootsies
and how many of them have been caught sexually harassing male pages ?
Did Bishop Eddie Long make it to congress?

Hey there Mr. Bluster... there is no need to become unhinged. The fact is, termination (lifetime or indefinite) is an option the NFL can exercise if it so desires.
If Michael Sam and his boyfriend has the locker room to themselves they would do more than play tootsies. Or is Michael Sam now White because he is gay?
Hey when I see Republicans that are family values candidates. I tend to think it's a candidate that doesn't have sex with his wife beyond her birthday. I also tend to think he has various call girls on speed dial, if they are overt Christians then they probably are closeted homosexuals.

And so Bill Clinton, Eliot Spitzer, John Edwards were Republicans?
