Lies.
That is not on Ritz's twitter account?
The source is the Competitor Group itself. CGI says "injury" but neither they nor Ritz has supplied any details.
NO :'(
Why that's something new....
RNR ALWAYS promotes popular pros that have no intention of running. They do this EVERY race.
Didn't the brojos have a prop bet on this?
Not like anyone signed up to race so they could say they ran with Ritz or something. Ask any of the plodders if they are upset about this and there response will be. "Who is Ritz?"
Twisted his ankle in training apparently.
He is a pro so he has to make money. This causes him making mistakes. Next marathon up Fukuoka (too soon). Presses to get ready and gets hurt. Pushes things back to Houston....then LA....then Boston. It is a sad thing when it comes to development.
this is obviously dave smith's fault.
For what it's worth, I live where ritz lives now and saw him running last week in Ada, MI. Someone was riding a bike next to him, so I know he is running. unless this happened in the last couple days.
ankle injury
Is he still being coached by Salazar? Self coached?
Too bad, he looked fine on the recent Flo Track workout Wednesday video. If it's minor it may be a good thing because he really doesn't have enough time to train for Fukuoka.

Unfortunately, that era of golden promise is gasping its final breaths. Ritz is cooked, Webb has gone off the reservation, and Hall seems to be out of bullets. Though not part of that same hs class period, Tegenkamp and Solinsky also seem to have all but packed it in.
If he just twisted or sprained his ankle it should be a minor set back...but for Rtiz sometimes minor set backs can last a year or more. The guy has had some strange injuries: hurt kicking a ball to a dog, hurt by an indoor track, strange infection from a surgery that turned out to be unnecessary, hurt lifting weights...the list goes on.

I knew about the infection, but why do you think the surgery turned out to be unnecessary? I've never heard about that. Are you inferring the root cause of the injury (changing form) was unnecessary, or he wasn't actually injured?
