I've moved to spain and have 3 excellent ovals very near to my house (barcelona olympic village). Sure you can only look in on the main stadium from behind heavy bars, but the other two seem like just normal neighbourhood tracks. However both of these have a fee associated with using them, locked gates and the whole deal. This is the first time I've ever seen this, but then I am not really a track guy so do not know what is usual.
Is this usual? The prices seems completely ridiculous. Like 5€ for a single use, and 250€ for a year pass.
I've moved here from berlin where I also had a few tracks near my house, all of them free use for anyone. Like a sort of neighbourhood scene. Kids would hang out there, play sports instead of dealing crack, it was great.
Would you all pay to use a track, or jump the fence? Or just run everything on the roads? Do they charge for track access in the usa? I figure everywhere in usa has a high school relatively near, which will have a track, and which is thus available for the whole community to use.
