anyone know the difference is with heel soft tissue damage or heel bone pain?
seems my pain comes more from pushing off than landing and the impact.
wen to a pt they said more tissue an tendon not bone...not sure what to believe.

hop on one leg (injured one). Significant pain means higher odds for stress fracture.
I had heel bursitis a few years back, and avoided doc til I could barely run - podiatrist gave me a cortisone shot and a brace with an "air bubble" in the heel to keep it from impacting the ground to wear for about 6 weeks. I ran through it (not well) but the cortisone did a world of good.
Where is the pain exactly? Back part, inside, out?
Does it hurt to walk on the balls of your feet?
pain is more on the outside towards the back of the Achilles tendon near the heal . It hurts to push off, but the impact does not hurt.
The PT did a squeeze test ( no real screaming pain, just sensitive and tender). I jumped on one leg, the up motion hurts, but the landing is fine.
