Anyone go through something similar? How do you get remotivated to train hard? Sign up for a race?
How long have you felt like this?
If you were training really hard, you might just need a mental & possibly physical break to recharge.
Similar ideas to somebody getting started:
- Find a training partner, or group to train with 1-2x a week. They will keep you accountable, and their enthusiasm might rub off on you.
- Sign up for a race. Possibly a different distance then you normally do. Possibly in an interesting location. Possibly on a different surface (i.e. trail, if you normally run roads, etc.). Sometimes changing it up can bring back some newness.
- Run some new training routes you've never run. Get out of the rut.
- Set a goal. Time goal, race goal. Beating a faster rival who irks you a little bit. Whatever.
- Substitute a different activity (either cross training or a different sport) for a few weeks or a few months to keep fit, but give you a break from the running. Hopefully, you get the hunger back sooner than later.
That's all I've got. Hopefully something helps.
