For the past couple weeks, i had some bad pain running along the outsides of both of my lower legs and it's been messing pretty bad with my training. A trainer told me I had to strengthen my peroneals so I took off for 6 days and started strengthening/icing/ibuprofen-ing them. I tried running today and the peroneals felt so-so, not great, but they weren't hurting nearly as bad.
However, I developed a major pain deep in my calf about 20 minutes in. I think it was a know but I'm not positive. So I guess my questions are:
1) How can I tell if it's a knot? And if it is, is there a way to get rid of it besides massage/ice/heat?
2) Should I give running another shot tomorrow?
3) I should continue strengthening/icing/ibuprofen-ing my peroneals, right?
These problems are probably due to the fact that I supinate REALLY badly and bumped my mileage up a bit while running my easy days too fast. If any one has any help or advice, I'd really appreciate it!! Thanks!
