I workout at Havard Westlake. You will need to get a HW Neighbor ID Card from the bookstore. Depending on the time of the year the bookstore closes at 2-3:30pm. Check their website.
The ID Card is free and you can use the track after school hours.
Please note: the track has hairpin turns.
Boy, they really squeezed that one in. Fortunate to get six lanes fitting in.

Thanks! I'll check it out - does look tight but prob better than running around my block like a maniac. Is it open early am?
Skinnyb, one of my greatest finds when I was living in NoHo was the triangular park just south of North Hollywood Park (

it's right at the intersection of Tujunga & Camarillo, or Tujunga & Magnolia.....also right next to the 170, where it intersects with 101/134/170.
If you start at the "point" (SW corner) of the triangle, it's exactly 600m to the L turn at Mag/Tujunga, then it's exactly 800m at the next L turn to head back to the "point."....once you make one loop, you go about 200m until you are dead even with Park Place Apt's (4924, look for it on google street view), that is exactly one mile. If you are decent with juggling numbers, you can even do tempos here (solid packed dirt), just check your watch as you make the sharp turn at the "point" of the triangle, to have a ref point. also, it's pretty easy to do those 600's & 800's here (you could wheel off any distance you want, really). sure there are always walkers (and harvard westlake on occasion), but i never had any big issues getting workouts in there....of course it was two blocks from my house, so that made it kinda easy, haha.
also you're only 10min from Griffith, which is perfect for hill reps on the NE side (by the horse arena, closest to Forest Lawn) as you go up that hill. Also glendale CC isn't too bad for a track, I never had a problem getting on there, so that could be an option.....good luck.
dude~
Thanks for the info! - drove by the park looks pretty good - I'll try it out on Friday,
Also, the van nuys/Sherman oaks park is another good place..it's
mainly dirt path and there is a big loop that's 1-1.5 miles I believe and a shorter loop that is 400-600m.
