Hello all,
I rolled my ankle on a run a week ago, actually, I rolled it twice within five seconds of eachother. I had to stop for a minute, but was able to finish my run with no pain.
That night, I felt something run laterally across the top of my lower foot as I pointed it downward and placed pressure on it. The next day on my run I felt a pressure on the top of my foot that eased as I continued running. This has been the pain I have experienced for a week. It is general and constantly moving in where it hurts (i.e. middle outside, towards the ankle). There is a good deal of swelling. NSAIDs are very effective, when I take them my foot feels no pain. Also, the pain is relieved with movement, as if something were being released.
It is often most noticeable when at rest. Additionally, moving my foot into abnormal positions can incite a level of pain.
I am concerned about a stress fracture as I have had one in another place, but I have put in a full week without increase in symptoms, does not hurt on foot strike, movement relieves pain, and is relieved by NSAIDs.
This covers the pain area fairly well:
