I agree with the last point. I read quickly and so trawling forums, while a little time-consuming, is my favoured way of getting quality information. It takes a lot of sifting but the gold is there if you look hard enough.
But overall, seeing as LR was my first forum (I have since drifted off to others), I can say the trolling here is asinine and genuinely not funny - it tends towards snark and mindless contrariness - and a lot of runners seem to have serious inferiority complexes.
I actually buy the idea that running as a sports means oddballs self-select themselves for that type of lifestyle. The time, pain, lack of finincial reward, individual nature of the sport and incremental results for very hard slog means well-adjusted people deal out.
That said, LR is clearly the colon of the running world.
That last line is a great one!
These forums are a train wreck of ignorance, libertarian idiocy and outright racism. I love it. It's like watching Jerry Springer.

Yet, neither of you two will leave. You two obviously love living in a colon:
Since discovering this message board I became a faster runner, but in later years I became a slower runner. Overall, I may be a bit happier too.
This all occurred since discovering this message board but I don't the message board had anything thing to do with any of those changes.
If you want to know if this board has added to my ability to run to or added to my happiness that's a different question. My running ability has not been affected but my interest in general topics of the sport has been increased by the board. I do find the board entertaining, so although it hasn't affect my overall happiness, it does amuse me sometimes.
I'm not on it that much so no addictive behavior.
letsrun is unswept floor to my falling peanut butter sandwich.
Before, I didn't spend much time thinking about runners. Now, I just want to punch rupp in the face and bitchslap sleazy.
