Pretty cool even if he isn't that fast. Plenty of retired Pro athletes seem to get dangerously obese after they stop playing so it's nice to see some stay active on a certain level.

I guess a 1500m isn't track and field either. An 800m definitely can't be considered running. And a 100m well WOW that's not even close! ... Idiot.

Its even shorter that the Sprint Triathlon. So, no its not a "triathlon". You don't run a 1200m race and call it a "metric mile" do you ? Or maybe you do.

They are track and field/running events, but they are not marathons. That being said, I don't know what would be the proper term for a very short swim/bike/run competition. I guess it still is tritathlon unless there is another term for it.

I never knew the term triathlon referred to a specific distance. I likely never knew this because it's not true. You can have a sprint triathlon, ironman, Olympic distance... yet they are all TRIATHLONS. as is the distance brett d*ck pic favre completed.

You just disproved your own point. Those are all standard triathlon distances. But yeah, the term has been so watered down it doesn't mean anything anymore. Any "race" with the three events in it is now called a "triathlon". I guess I'm just old school. To me a triathlon is Iron Man distance, hence half-triathlon etc. In the context of this thread though .. how does it follow that BF completing a mini-sprint triathlon prove that triathletes are mote fit than runners ? That's kinda the point here.

Are you new here? On LetsRun standard distance triathlon course are all short anyway, so what does it really matter?

So if I swim from one length of my pool to the other, ride my bike to the grocer at the end of my street, and then walk up the stairs at said grocer, have I completed a triathlon.

Absolutely. Feel free to swap out the pool length swim with a pool length kayak paddle too. Heck, string any three semi-athletic events together that can be raced and call it a triathlon. The term has lost all meaning.
