Ditto. Drove from Queenstown to Milford Sound. Boat trip out the Sound to the Tasman Sea and back. Tons of aquatic mammals playing in the Sound. Small plane flight back to Queenstown over the Southern Alps. Rainbows everywhere over the mountains. One of the best days of my life.

I haven't been to these places but I believe it. Volcanic islands are some of the most beautiful places on earth--many conatain incredible scenes of pure white sand beaches against towering, green mountains in the background. Not hills either, but mountains of 7-8000 feet.
I've been to Reunion island, and that is thus far my favorite place (and the most beautiful) in the world. A close second would be annecy France.
Francophone (not necessarily belonging to France though) islands are incredible--reunion, Mauritius, the Seychelles, French Polynesia, Corsica--it's one of my life goals to explore every island I can amongst those.
A fun thing to do if you have spare time is go to google earth and zoom in on these small islands. There you can see where people have taken pictures and uploaded them to google earth. It will make you want to get on a plane immediately! look up the atoll in French Polynesia that's called "kauehi." It's probably my favorite so far.
Must be nice being wealthy.

All out sex with this unreal hot girl years ago.
Crested Butte ski lift on the Saturday before the Super Bowl. Headed up the mountain was incredible and looking back onto the small town was even better.
I'll second this. In fact I will say this is not that great a picture. My fiancé and I stayed in monterosa. The hike to vernaza was awesome and the romantic road is appropriately named minus the graffiti. The best part is that the food and wine there was very inexpensive.

Not at all. Given it's a clear/sunny day, it looks like that. Per its namesake, the place is composed of 5 coastal villages.
I'd put Cinque Terre on the list of Most Beautiful to run as well: you can run from village to village on a coastal/hiking trail.
Others I'll add to Most Beautiful Places:
Bocas del Toro, Panama

Hell's Canyon Idaho/Oregon.
Not in the bottom by the river, but up in the scree-covered barren yellow hills where the heat is hot and the bugs buzz and the snakes a-slither. Rugged and inhospitable. Good for adventure. Beautiful.
