I'm a decent rec runner with a recent 18:30 5k (not a 5k runner) and former marathon cycles of 1:23:50 half (without caring about sprinting to the finish) and a 2:56 marathon.
I've never really raced a half before but I've got one in 5-6 weeks.
Weekly running in the 75-95km range
Intervals 7x1m (3:30-3:40 range) w 2 min rest
Recent 5k @ 18:30 (3:43)
Easy runs 8-14km 4:40-5:10 pace
Long runs 23-25kms @ 4:30 pace (feel easy)
Last year the half was a 3:57 avg pace.
Garmin Vo2 max = 57, not sure if that's worth the digital paper it's illuminated on.
With the remaining 4 weeks of good training + 2 week taper should I be thinking 3:55 pace or 3:50?
Or should I go for broke and aim 3:47 (1:19:59)
