Hell yes.
Yes, if you plan on keeping it at least 10-years and keeping it well maintained. The BMW quality is excellent. Repair are expensive when they are required.
(U.S. cars are cheaper to repair but they require repairs more often.)
Have had a 335i for several years. Best car I've ever had. Perfect handling, great engineering. There is a level of quality in the design and manufacture of a BMW that you don't fully appreciate until you drive other cars. My wife has an Audi and while it's a good car, I think it's a step below. Doesn't handle as well, doesn't feel as solidly engineered and little things like the heat and AC don't work as well. Sounds dumb but the little things add up. There's a reason the 3 series is continually rated at the top.
Wife does.
NO. Absolutely NOT.
I have two. 3-series convertible and wagon. can't imagine buying anything else. but I make enough to afford it (and I buy used). if it's comfortably in your budget, go for it! but you'll find it hard to get anything else afterwards...
Drove a Z4 for several years. Best time of my life.
2006 325xi. Frankly it is boring. Competent, reliable but boring.
I do. Great handling, style, feel, acceleration. Everyone on the road will be envious of you. Girl's panties drop instantly when they see me pull up in a BMW.

Depends which Beamer. No girls panties drop for a 3 series or less.

learn to do some DIYs if you plan on keeping them 10+ years. Youll save alot of money and it's kind of fun working on them.

This. Gotta get on that M3 game to make it rain lace.

Completely false. The 3 series is probably the best budget panty dropper there is. It does not exude "entry level luxury" the same way, say, a C300 does.
I've never owned a non-european car. I've also only owned two cars that were less than 10 years old when I bought them.
This includes 3 Volvos, 2 BMWs, and a VW (oops).
The differences between the Volvos and BMWs are small, and my favorite car was actually a Volvo. Both were relatively easy to work on, the parts weren't ridiculously expensive, and if you avoid the dealer, repairs were reasonable as well.
The difference between those two and the VW was huge. It was a fine car, it made it to about 180k miles before I sold it. It was comfortable and ok to drive, but it was just missing something. It didn't have the same feel as the other cars.
I don't know if this is helpful or not, but I think buying a higher end car is totally worth it. I'd never buy one new. I actually have a personal rule of never spending more than 10k on a car. But it's totally worth it. Take one for a test drive. You'll never want to sit in a cheap cloth seat again.
3 series coupe in gun metal grey!!!!!
Loved that car
Now got a alfa romeo GT blackline and to drive not as good but for attracting ladies its better
I love German cars. BMW,Audi and even VW TDi's are great cars.
I never believed the whole thing about women liking guys because of the car. A buddy of mine had a 5 series and I used it for the day while visiting him and I could not believe how many women stared at the car. Now don't get me wrong I'd never go out with a gold digger who is that shallow but the BMW is a chick magenet.
If this thread is legit, it's a true testament to the car's quality. but i would ask the brojos to doublecheck the IP addresses here because this is overwhelmingly favorable and could be BS.
If you DIY, they are a piece of cake.
Example: Replacing crank position sensor on an M3 might cost $4-500 at the stealership. You can get the same part online for $50-75 and install it yourself in about 2-3 hrs.
Not to mention you can basically fix every single thing on a BMW with the following tools:
Ratchet with 10, 13, and 17mm sockets
Phillps head
Flat head
Inverted torx set
Hammer/mallet
I drive a Volvo and absolutely love it. I plan to stay in Volvos but would give BMW a try.
A buddy of mine has owned both a Mercedes and a BMW. According to him the BMW is a MUCH better car. His job keeps in a company car A LOT so when he talks about comfort and handling I listen.
