Haha, Apple shows Samsung how to do a watch properly. Brilliant design and integration of software and hardware.

Corporate bitch!!
I'll stick with my 10+ year old Timex Ironman watch, thank you very much.

...and Motorola shows them both up with the Moto360.
I was hoping it would be closer to the pip boy from fallout 3. That's what it needs to eventually evolve into.
It was disappointing to hear that you can't use it as a phone, so it's not the Dick Tracy watch. Let me know when it is a picture phone. I still won't ever consider buying a watch that costs more than $20.
It pisses me off so much that Nike (because of Tim Cook - Who just happens to be on the Nike Board of Directors) exited the wearables market. I've loved my nike+ GPS Sportswatch and I sure as h*ll am not going to wear a $349 smartwatch that doesn't even have a GPS.
You'd figure they'd incorporate that into the 'sport' model, but no. If you want that kind of functionality you just have to carry your iPhone around on you. Thanks but no thanks.
Requires a phone.
No on board GPS.
Thud!

Agreed. It's an expensive monitor for your phone with a HRM built-in. This has to be a flop. Has to be.

What is the obsession with devices being able to measure heart rate? It seems so gimicky.
So says the man with a 90s cell phone.

They could put an apple logo on a piece of bin Laden's poop and it would still sell.

I like where you're going with that. Keep brainstorming.

And Timex shows all of them up with the Timex One GPS. No phone required.
https://www.timex.com/onewithout trying to sound like too much of a luddite, what exactly is the point in these smartwatches? If they need connectivity to your phone, then logic dictates that you're likely to have your phone on you (can't think of many instances where my phone would be in bouetooth range but not actually on me. Shower maybe?). In which case, just look at that when any new messages / emails / whatever come in. Seems a pointless gimmick to me

They're running out of ideas, but know that apple fanboys will rush out to buy something...anything...

Except that you're tied in to AT&T for the 3G/Data coverage after the first year (which is free). If you don't already have or want AT&T after that point, the "tracking/updates/messaging" feature is useless.
I think we, on this board, are not the designed audience for this watch. The target market is:
1. Apple fanboys (and girls) who have to have everything Apple.
2. People who will buy the watch to impress their friends/others
3. Weekend warriors. We all know who these are because we see them wearing their iPhone on their armband messing with it while they run. How cool would it be if they could control everything from their wrist? It's perfect!
