I dunno if anyone ever doubted that she's the "real deal" but that is still seriously impressive
Betsy has been rolling this year! When she dropped her track 5k time by over 30 secs to 14'39 in Monaco in July this year, everyone should have seen this coming. But to beat especially Joyce Chepkirui who has a road PB of 30'37, it is super-impressive!!! I hope her momentum continues through the next two seasons and we could be seeing a 2015 world champion and 2016 Olympic champion!
Saina is very level headed and has a thoughtful coach. She will only get better over the next two years.
Interesting that Saina and Kipyego are two of Kenya's best while following a different "career" path than most other Kenyan women: (1) attending US universities, and (2) living and training professionally in the US.
Kenya is wonderful but still a country with potential problems for an elite from political to health.
Better to train at altitude in the US with all the infrastructure and support the US provides. Smart moves...
