I like Vessey's "bondage" look.
Maggie Vessie 2:01.92 ahead of Ajee Wilson 2:02.89

Talent is not based on winning medals. It means he has the potential to win medals.
2016 Olympics are looking very exciting for US women. Bmart, Ajee, Simpson, Rowbury, and Coburn could all get medals.

Thank you Brenda. I was starting to doubt myself as expert as I was certain MMB would win the steeple, but Brenda more than made up for it in this one as we predicted before the race she'd pull of the big upset:
http://www.letsrun.com/news/2014/09/brussels-preview/How was that for a prediction?
Your welcome.

Why omit Mary Cain? She'll be 20 and most likely be the dominant force in American running.

Rupp's been sticking his nose in there in both the 5 and the 1500 but he winds up going backwards with 150 left. He needs to improve that closing speed substantially if he's going to have any chance at a medal in the 5 and maybe even the 10.
It was a world class 1500 coming off a slow 3rd lap and Rupp did not lose much ground the last 150. That is actually damn good running. Tactically Rupp didn't run well but physically he did. He made a hard move on the second lap which surely came back to haunt him, but he's never run in this quality of a 1500 so it's not too surprising.
For those who didn't see the race he was in a bad position from about 600 to go.
Simpson is running a longer race than Rowbury; the latter right on the rail.

hassan leads
Simpson and Rowbury just behind
Rowbury is psychologically thinking she currently has the advantage , watching Simpson run a longer race.

Jager doesn't have a medal and if you are going by times or teams made then Andy Wheating would probably challenge for "best talent since Webb"
His training partners call him a freak of nature...

She has yet to match up against international senior competition for a win. Potential is definitely there and, but US women's talent is very deep right now. Mary Cain should be there, but the list above has already shown that they can win.

Another 3 thriller. I've been saying all along that Mercy Cherono is underrated. She can be a great one.
Looks like Simpson and Hassan helped her get the Diamond by boxing Genze in. I don't know if that was by design. Can't think of any reason they would want to help Cherono, but they did keep Dibaba locked in.
