It is not as if these people (Americans) are any more important than anyone else in the world who are also being killed daily - even if this is a gruesome way to kill someone, which is probably the point - it draws a reaction. If these were blown up by a suicide bomber, they would still die, but people are no longer outraged as much by that method.

Sorry, but two american journalist's lives are not enough to get involved in a potential war situation over - hasn't there been enough of that already (Irag, Iran, Afghan, Kuwait, Vietnam, Korea, Nicaragua, etc.). These places have no meaning for Americans and are just a waste of resources and people (others will die just to avenge these two?!). These extremists want a jihad (holy war), and you want to give it to them?

It is sad that these things are only taken seriously when an American loses his head. Where was the outrage when they killed HUNDREDS in Tikrit months earlier and videotaped the whole thing? ISIS should have been destroyed a year ago, but since the West seemed safe nothing was done while thousands of poor defenseless people lost their lives.

Obama is a Christian man with a forgiving heart. What you see as weakness is a sign of strength. The ability to turn the other cheek.

ISIS is a much greater threat to Iran and Russia than it is to the US. They will take care of the problem at their expense, unless of course, we prove ourselves stupid enough to wade in to that quagmire and do the job for them, for which i'm sure they'd be very grateful.

Uh, this was taken very seriously before anyone lost their head. Those heads were lost BECAUSE of the serious response from the US. Try to keep up.

You are all pretty naive, considering neither video actually showed anyone being beheaded.

Obama is smart for not getting involved (other than the airstrikes), ill give him credit where credit is due

You do realize that Bush, not exactly sitting on his hands, started a war in Iraq that cost 5,000 American lives? So, let's keep this in perspective. Americans got kidnapped and killed under Bush as well. The question is what should be done and how?
