Sucks for him that he's starting in unseasonably warm weather in the northeast. Also, why run into the generally upwind direction?
Yeah I see the heat is pretty wicked over there at the moment.
As far as the prevailing wind goes I don't know how much home work Perry did on things like this.
Was the record set running the other way ?
He should have gone west to east. It's entirely downhill in that direction.

According to the website, he did a circumnavigation of New Zealand's 3100 miles in 70 days. So the 3,000 miles from NYC to SF will take will take 24 days less?

Yeah I saw that.
I didn't follow the run as it got no real coverage, but I think maybe he might have just cruised it without any pressure to go for a record ?

What's the fastest NY to CA non-stop relay run across the USA? I know of a group of men and women who made it in 13 days and 18 hours.
He watched the movie Forrest Gump and is running Gump Route C.

After a week of acclimatising Perry is gearing up to do some catch up miles. he is doing a 36 hour stint running through the night.
The guy is a machine !
