So about 3 years ago I had a NFA Trust drawn up by my lawyer and have bought 8 suppressors over the last 3 years.
I picked up AAC Ti-Rant suppressors and a few Surefire Cans for my long guns.
I have to admit that the wait was long. About 9 months per suppressor and the $200 tax stamp per unit added up over 8 suppressors.
I'd have to say that the trust route is legit as my estate will have access to all the NFA items even after I have passed.
The biggest plus however is the DB reduction on the range. It was the only way I could justify these to the better half. As my full time vocation requires the usage of firearms my hearing has really taken a beating. Because of all the other skill sets required at work many of us have to train on our own time to sustain proficiency. The suppressors have been a great reduction to hearing damage.
In some parts of Scandinavia suppressors are the norm. Hunters and Sport Shooters alike consider it poor form to shoot sans a "CAN."
