Swimming Pools are a completely unnecessary luxury that is 100x more likely kill a child than a gun.
Swimming Pools are not protected by the Constitution of the United States.
It is about time we banned these menacing death pools.

Don't give them any ideas, please.

Like they have any ideas. They are told what to think and what to do.
I agree. But this is a silly argument. Swimming pools aren't specifically designed to hurt people.
You are a perfect example of why the Out of Touch Party can't win.
They should be banned from banks, and from airplanes.
swimming pools don't kill children. Water kills children. Ban water.

Actually both pools and guns have the exact same probability of killing a child. 0% both are inanimate objects incapable of action.
I'd also venture to say that per capita, children who are unsupervised around pools or firearms have an equal chance of injury or death, but so many more children play with pools than guns. Hard to put a pool in a safe.
Are either guns or pools banned?
Some are banned. Some are regulated, either by the government or an HOA or insurance company.Owning a pool raises your insurance premiums and owning a firearm doesn't. Pools are usually mandated to have a security fence at least 6ft. Firearms are recommended to be kept in a secure safe. Want some Irony. Firearms don't increase insurance premiums. Pools, Pitt Bulls and Trampolines do. Underwriters are vey smart and do extensive research to limit their liability. Evidentially gun ownership isn't enough of a risk to the companies to warrant a rating.

Does anyone really NEED an 8' or 10' pool? I don't want to pry anyone's pool out of their hands, but there should be limits to what can be legally owned. Why does a pool have to be deeper than 3', and should anyone be allowed to own a pool? We should pass laws mandating all pools be filled in to depth of 3', and a national registry should be maintained of everyone who owns a pool.
I'm not against pool ownership. I just think for the sake of safety, they need to be further regulated. Is there a recent pool drowning I can use to further my cause?

Change your topic from pool to pit bull and you'll really stir some stuff up. Plenty of headlines to choose from too, and guns never jump the fence and kill the neighbor kid.

Old age kills 100x more people than swimming pools.
Think about that.
Time to outlaw birthdays. At the very least regulate them. Why does one person really need 75 birthdays. It's just excessive.

What a piece of garbage.
Why does he look at only age 10 and under. Why doesn't he include the deaths of children 17 and under?
Why did he use deaths per gun? That is such a meaningless statistic. He should have used deaths per bullet. There may be 200 million guns, but there may be over a trillion bullets in circulation.
Using his logic, we should ban cell phones. The number of people who are killed while carrying cell phones has exploded by infinity over the last 30 years.
