My longest was probably abour 1 1/2 years minimum of 3 miles to qualify as a run
Currently at one day. Recently completed a 10 day streak. I'm not a streaker.
19 days, had some injury troubles in august
15 today
I have run for the past 2years 3 months and 4 days: last missed workout in my log is May 27 2012
1 month
26 years, 361 days.
You have run every day for almost 27 years?
HRE I always suspected you were somewhat on the obsessive side of compulsive. Was I correct in that judgement?
0 days. Taking the day off.
I ran into a guy on a run once that said he had about a 25 year streak going. I asked what the hardest days were to keep the streak alive. I expected an answer like surgery or the birth of a child but he said he spent a day in jail for domestic abuse.
Currently 3 days. I rarely go longer than 20 days without taking a day off.
Respect to HRE.
You're not Stuart Calderwood by any chance? I think he's at just over 27 years. Super nice guy, too.
My longest streak was just over 1 years, 2 months. It ended when I fell, sprained my ankle and figured it would be better to not risk permanent damage and let it heal so I can run in future.
Congrats to all who achieve those crazy long streaks. From personal experience it is very tough especially when you travel extensively for work. Also day after a marathon is hell!
My current is just over a month FWIW. I like everyday running but not streaking anymore.

Not at all. But I am very habitual and once you have a streak of any appreciable length a couple dynamics take hold. One is that it really isn't that hard to keep a streak going. If you're used to running 10-20 miles a day getting out for a mile or two really feels like taking a day off. The other is that you start thinking that if you're going to destroy something that you've created in daily increments for over a decade (or more) you'd better have a really good reason and be sure because if you misjudged your desire you can't repair a streak by running twice the day after you stopped it. I discussed this with Mark Covert who broke his 45 year streak in July and it was a well planned break with the decision to stop being made well in advance of the actual stopping. He was sure he wanted to stop and has no regrets. Maybe there's a genetic component though. My youngest son has a streak that is two years old today if I have my dates right.
Just me, Rich Englehart, not Stuart Calderwood.
So what was your toughest day in keeping the streak alive?

BURN
The thing that stands out was going to New Zealand and Australia and "missing" a day because of the International Date Line and wondering if that would end my streak. I finally decided that you can't miss a run on a day that doesn't exist, that I'd run on the same day two days in a row on the way back and that I'd just keep my diary to the date it would be at home.
The other big challenges have been time related. Very occasionally I'll have a day, most often a day of really long travelling, when it's hard to see when there would be time for a run. But that's easy enough to handle just by getting up 20 minutes sooner and getting in a really short run. When I had shingles I thought that running would be agonizing but it turned out that was the one time in the day when the shingles really didn't bother me.

Not often we see name calling...
Well run, HRE!
I'm at 26 days. Just lost a 216 day streak about a month ago (due to a wedding lasting far longer into the evening than I expected).
You're right HRE. Getting up 20 mins earlier is definitely easier with this new perspective.
