Sometimes weeks don’t look that great on paper until you give them the proper context. This week, I was forced to complete my Wednesday track workout alone at 10:30pm (don’t ask). 34 laps total: 16 laps clockwise (warmup/cooldown), 18 laps counterclockwise (workout). My only light was the moon and an occasional passing airplane. My only audience was the stars. But I found out what I needed to know, especially on that 4th rep.
I am racing a 5K tomorrow, not to win, or set a PR, or even run a very fast time. I do what I do because I love what I do. Because I want to get better. Because I love to run. It’s that simple.
Hope everyone else had a great week.
