It was pretty hot, especially for the men who went off at 9:15.
Course was in reasonably good shape, a bit slippery in a few places due to overnight rain.

Lee troop!!!
Definitely faster group than the old Running with the Buffaloes days.
Who was eligible to run in this?
CU runs a few of their current varsity in colors, and others not. Otherwise, it's an open race. Several community people run, though it looks like fewer than in previous years. At least a couple of the runners in today's events were below college age.

Including those Scholl kids, who seem to race, at most, about nine times a month, maybe ten. They will be finito before college -- if not officially, for all intents and purposes. Do they even run for their school team?
carrie verdon is a babe
Anyone know what Ben Saarel is up to?
Where did Deak finish?
Also curious about Ben.
rumor is that Ben is fine and will run next week at Colorado State meet.
not clear why he opted out of the CU team time trial.

Well yeah, this time will probably place higher at nationals in a tougher NCAA.
Adam Peterman... anyone who watched the Montana 7 v 7 meet two years ago knew he'd be popping up soon in the NCAA. Quite a few strong runners in MT high school ranks in recent years.

Wow. Great results. Remember this is at altitude, and likely no taper in mileage. Also no speed work yet.
The university of Colorado is at altitude? They have not yet done speed work? They did not taper for a time trial? Wow cool thanks for that mind blowing expert analysis

This interview with Coach Wetmore gives a good insight into how the coach goes about bringing in recruits, and why they didn't have any heavy hitters among their new recruits this year.

The course is dirt and slow as balls too.
I hope CU can in the NCAA title this season. The time trial results are an indicator that training is going very well. The team looks to have at least 6 guys who may be able to run in the 30:30 range for 10K if all goes well.
