He hasn't performed at all this preseason, he should be cut. Of course the Rams and the NFL pander to the left so much that he wont get cut. Such a sad world we live in.

I agree. If a team cuts him, many will say the decision-makers are homophobic. Tony Dungy said he wouldn't have drafted Sam because of the circus that could potentially come arrive with him, whether he makes the team or not.
You mean because he's gay right? Not cause he might be facing north right now.
I googled "Michael Sam" and the first google news item is
"NFL Preseason: Michael Sam shines; Johnny Manziel turns into gunslinger"
Sam led the team in tackles yesterday. He sacked Manziel in the last game as well so don't say he hasn't done anything.
The Rams are going to suck, they should keep him for the jersey sales.
If they don't, I was wondering why a team like my team, the Cowboys, wouldn't pick him up. Our defense sucks.
Apparently, the Cowboys may pick him up:

He hasn't performed at all this preseason? You're obviously trolling. But I'll bite.
I have watched every Rams preseason game(as much as it pains me to admit it, I am a fan) but last nights. Just looking at the stats from last nights game, he led the team in tackles. He also has 3 sacks this pre season. He may not make the team anyways because there is an undrafted rookie(Ethan Westbrooks) who is playing great. But if he does or he doesn't make the team, it will have nothing to do with his sexual orientation.
Side note. I agreed with Dungy. I didn't want him drafted by the Rams because it would possibly become a distraction to the team with the media constantly asking the other players questions about him.
My first thought was if Sam gets cut, the Cowboys would pick him up. They are pitifully weak on defense and Jerry Jones loves the media circus.

You lying sack of sack-licking shee-ite. Sam has been put in against 5th stringers in meaningless games in order to have something, anything, to put on a highlight reel. But you sword swallowers haven't ever been noted for sticking to the truth when it isn't helpful to your cause.
Regarding the recent ESPN controversy about the shower question - I wonder why NFL franchises still have communal showers at their multi-million dollar training complexes. Even my little gym has individual shower stalls. Surprising (maybe not even believable) that NFL teams are stuck with old-style communal showers that I thought weren't even in effect in prisons or high schools anymore.
Communal showers create a sense of unity and help build strong teams.
Yo- Sticky, when was the last time you performed?

Hard to tell in the pre-season how well he is or isn't playing. He's undersized, weak and slow according to his combine numbers. And I too, wouldn't want the circus. If he would have ran a 4.5, hit 30+ reps on the bench and was 2 inches taller his sexual orientation wouldn't be an issue to anyone. But those stats don't tend to make teams take a risk on someone who's a distraction off the field. I'm surprised he was drafted at all. That he has a job and Tebow doesn't is a surprise to me. I thought Jacksonville would have picked Tim up for sure.

How would more height make his performance more valuable? I think a sack by a short or tall DE has the same impact in a game. I also wonder how a player so lacking in ability led the SEC in sacks last year, especially since the SEC is filled with future NFL players on both sides of the ball.

Haha, nicely played.
I haven't really been following any team during the preseason so I don't know how he's performed. Jeff Fischer DGAF about his orientation or what people think, though, so if he should be cut he will be cut.
So now since Sam had a good preseason you've got no other option but to make crap up. Sam played great in college and held his own this preseason. He will find his way on the field, be it as a Ram or somewhere else. The problem is simply you want him to fail because he is gay. But it isn't up to you.
Height doesn't make performance more valuable. It makes it more likely, and he is unproven in the league, therefore a risk. I never said he lacked ability just size, strength and speed. All three are good indicators of overall performance in the NFL. Leading a conference (even the SEC) in sacks isn't as impressive as winning a heisman and look how many of those guys failed in the league.
Leading the SEC in sacks is more impressive than winning a Heisman. It's objective versus subjective. On field play is more telling than a skills contest, which is what the combine is. I've heard nothing but positive reviews about Sam's preseason play. And all rookies are unproven.
Good point. I guess I have a pet peave not with you of course but the fact that NFL teams do use height a predictor of sorts. Basically that whole Applewhite-Simms thing - Applewhite produced more at Texas than Simms with the same WRs, same line, etc. but the NFL still found Simms to be more draftable cause he was 4 inches taller which I find to be ood thinking. Also good point about the Heisman winners who failed to stick in the NFL. However, I will counter that they are mostly QBs and certain type QBs that excel in college seem to be unfit for pro success for some reason (offensive scheme I guess) while those in other positions have much more correlation between their college and pro performances (holding things like injuries constant).

Come on Wejo. You know better. That news item was probably written before the game. That is the narrative. Manziel has never really gone along with the program and has been bashed endlessly by the media. Michael Sam is a hero for coming out and has been overpraised by the media
I always wondered why height was important, especially because they always preach that low man wins in hitting drills. I think the height has to do with seeing over the offensive line for a QB, and seeing over the blocker for a DL. It takes less athletic ability for a 6'7" guy to go up for a ball than it does for a 6'2" guy. It also has to do with leverage in general, and how long of a reach you have when trying to shake a blocker.
There is correlations with height and success (although there are obvious exceptions). I'd be more conserned with his lack of strength and speed though. In the NFL people who run times like Sam are 6'7 and 300 lbs. At the end of a game when two guys have been hitting eachother all afternoon and they're both tired, the big guy is still big and heavy and hard to move.

This is assinine if true, which I doubt, but it would be interesting to see if pro players play grab ass and use the old towel slap on the butt like they do in HS. If they don't, I fail to see how showering with your buddies creates a bonding experience. If this is true, then all people are at least slightly bisexual.
