I definitely would do it.
I definitely would do it.
Would it still stink? And dry out your skin and yellow your fingernails? Because all of that is pretty disgusting. I wouldn't really call those negative health impacts.
Yes, of course.
I think smoking as an activity - not health risk - is totally underrated. Humans never talk to each other or reflect. 10 minute smoke breaks (I'm kind of still assuming you'll have to do it outside and can't just smoke at your desk) will cause people to slow down, reflect, and talk to their co-workers, strangers, etc.
At a bar, you bum a cigarette and meet new people, etc.
Anything to get people off their smart phones.
Yes, it would still stink (I like the smell, actually) and would yellow the skin, nails, etc.
To damn expensive.

Absolutely, yes.
On my health? What about those around me, second hand smoke and all that? Maybe it's not affecting me but killing others.

Not sure why you misunderstood the thread title. Fairly clear that it implies smoking would not be harmful to anyone.
No, it smells really bad.
I would occasionally even though I don't love the nicotine stimulation
No, only YOUR health is not affected by smoking
Oh totally.
Probably, but not if it made my lungs feel like shyte the next day. I quit smoking years ago, but have occasionally tried taking a few puffs since then. Invariably, I end up feeling like total crap for a day or two.
Also, what rojo said. I totally miss the camaraderie and meeting new people through smoking.

But you are asking everyone the question....
I would definitely smoke if it had no negative health consequences. Probably not constantly, but I would say a few cigarettes somedays, none most days. It is an enjoyable activity for multiple reasons:
1. The short stimulation is nice
2. Blowing smoke rings is fun
3. French inhale is fun
4. The social aspect is positive (conversation started by borrowing cigarette, borrowing a light, or just sharing space)
5. I like the taste of good tobacco. Keyword is good. It is like beer, the majority smoke the equivalent of bud and coors. Actually tobacco is worse than beer probably in this respect.
I'm not a smoker and never have been. But the thought that bumming a cig from someone can lead to social activities is really depressing. I certainly believe it's true, but just the thought of it bums me out.

Rojo, I think it's really hard to gauge this alternate reality in which smoking has no negative health effects. If it didn't, you'd assume many more people smoke, right? If many more people smoke, it would reduce the intimacy of a social smoking setting, because a particular aspect that fuels that sociable situation is the fact that smoking is more or less taboo.
I would probably be an occassional smoker if there were no negative health risks. I don't like the smell of tobacco but rojo is right in that it's a great social activity.
I thoroughly enjoy smoking a nice cigar 2-3 times per year at special occassions mostly because of the comraderie and that everyone is just sitting/standing around relaxing, enjoying each other's company talking while smoking a stogie. If smoking cigarettes were healthy I would do it more for the social aspect.
If I'm drunk I'll smoke a cig.
but if they were healthy I still wouldn't do it often because I don't like the smell, maybe after a stressful day
nah, nicotine isnt a pleasant high for me, i would definitely do coke if i knew it didnt have an impact on my health though
