Chris Lear, is that you? Is slum valley your LRC moniker?
Jersey is underrated but with every state legalizing gambling AC is no longer a unique place. That's a big hit for Jersey.
What's the criteria in the contest? This could be good. I'll email lear - he's jersey's unofficial publicist.
Jersey has water

BTW. Most us of from NJ don't give a crap about Atlantic City. AC doesn't matter to many of us here. The rest of the state is just simply fantastic. We have all summers that aren't TOO hot or too humid. We have beautiful spring and fall seasons. Winters that aren't too cold or too snowy (just the right amount). We also have some really good parks, trails, oceans, forests, mountains. We have great job opportunities, cheap gas, and lots of wealth.

Ditto for us, but you also have Newark and we have Austin. And we actually have gas in the ground that is ours.
Game over.
More to do in New Jersey.

Let me guess. North Jersey? Thousands(6,500 this weekend) of people will be without jobs in that section of the state and most of the area will be ghost towns in a decade since the entire economy there revolves around the city.
Anyway, can't speak for Texas, but I might as well throw out some of the NJ pros and cons to compare.
Pros:
-High incomes
-Very diverse
-Easy access to DC, Baltimore, Philly, NYC, Boston.
-Great Italian and Asian food
-Wawa
-Low gas prices, no self service
-Decent public transportation
-Shore culture(Not remotely like the MTV show at all)
-Good schools
-Diners
Cons:
-Traffic
-Tolls
-Camden, Newark, Atlantic City, Trenton are pits of despair
-High standard of living
-Boring suburban death trap
-Plenty of snobs, elitists
-Lack of jobs
-Cold winters, Hot summers
-Property taxes
-Corrupt
-High car insurance
-New Yorkers own/inhabit most of the shore
Michigan FTW. Please see my post on why
Michigan > Everywhere else
Doesn't the argument begin and end with Wawa? Nj wins!
Ill give the nod to TX, having lived in both states. Better weather for the most part in tx, better people as well. what sucks is how far everything is and the basic necessity of drunk driving, which is less of an issue in jersey. Also, jersey has nearby NYC which can be a ton of fun. Tx will also be far cheaper, which is awesome.
