I reread David Miller's " Born To Run" biography of Seb Coe this last weekend. Reading about the ups and downs of Coe's career, I was reminded of many similarities between the Brit and Galen. Both had/have an overbearing coach that they utilised since day one of their training. Both were consummate professionals from day one of their training. Both are/were very guided by physiology and gadgetry in their training. Both seem to be very sickly, and prone to maladies. Both seem to have a very "enlightened self-interest". Anyway, just my random thoughts.
