I know they did in 2013 - did they carry that over?
I'm sure J Simp would love to avoid USAs next year in the 1500 - a little extra motivation.

+ if Simpson gets a wild card, Efraimson's chances of making the US team suddenly look a whole lot better.
according to this website, the wildcard system still works:

There is the added incentive for the Diamond race winner who will receive a wildcard into the IAAF World championships in Beijing in 2015, should the incumbent IAAF World Champion not come from the same country.
Yes, but Jenny is 3 points behind in the standings. Realistically she would need to win and have Aregawi pull a Uceny (or at least not score) in the race.
The surprise here is that Allyson Felix, despite the terrible hamstring injury in Moscow, is 2 points ahead in the 200m diamond standings. If she doesn't lose to Okagbare in Brussels, she wins it. Allyson is likely to just do the 100m next year to qualify in both 100 and 200.

Aregawi came in 10th in Paris and in Stockholm. It's quite possible that she won't score again.

Zurich is double points [8 / 4 / 2 instead of 4 / 2 / 1], so if Simpson wins, she clinches the overall title even if Aregawi is 2nd.

aregawi has suffered a lot this year - her (probably) sham marriage broke up and she took a lot of heat for that - and now this tax problem - no wonder she can barely run.
I don't see her being a factor.
I've stopped following sprints - curses on them all. although it does hurt to throw curses on felix - she seems like a good person.
Jenny is actually 3rd in the standings--behind both Aregawi and Hassan. And there's no Dibaba to burn the kick out of Hassan.
Let's just say I'd rather be in Allyson't position than Jenny's.
