Wow. This guy had barely ran in years, jogged a lap, and then we hit it.
We started with 6x50 from a 3pt start, with him calling the GO.... I felt as if my feet were in cement, watching him pull away as I lonesomely made my way down the track.
We commenced to do 6x100 with a rolling start and 5 minute recoveries, but he was beat-dead tired. We tied on the first, I smoked him on the second, he angrily out kicked me on the third,and I did the last 3 solo as he vommitted beside the track.
He had not trained seriously since Senior year in HS, and made me look like a Girl Scout chasing Usain until the acidosis and oxygen debt set in. He looked like he had just ran a Special Endurance workout rather than a Speed Endurance one.
We will meet regularly again every Tuesday and Thursday. I expect the 100s to become very embarrassing as his fitness level rises.
