So I've been out 18 days because of a broken arm and had to let it heal a bit before I started running in a cast. The problem is that my stamina is absolutely gone. I can barely make it 3 mi without gasping for air and passing out. Before my arm broke I could run 7 miles 7:30 pace no problem. How can I get back on top fast and hopefully make varsity XC?
go run easily for a medium to long time over hilly terrain every day.
Its your diet. Endurance doesn't go away that fast. Why weren't you biking in the meantime?

Sounds like you're a failure for having 3 kids in HS. Anyway, I wasn't able to bike because my cast is bent at an awkward angle. Would doubling every day until I get my endurance back work?

Oh, my bad. I have the typical HSer diet. It has remained the same since before I was injured.

There is no such thing as a typical high school diet. Everyone eats different things and different amounts.

What is "typical"? I am in high school and eat a whole foods, plant-based diet of NO processed food, NO meat or cheese or crap like chips. Lots of vegetables fruit and whole grains.
