maybe she is moving into college or something like that. still - she basically raced once all track season, right?
now what? nothing til indoors? what a bloody waste of a year.
I seriously doubt she is pregnant.
People starting those rumors are just trolling.
injury is all I can think. Why wouldn't she run the diamond leagues and such when her teammates are. She also is young, perhaps she wanted to finish the summer with friends before she moves.
No news from NOP indicates that they're having problems.
Doing a Centro impression.

I've seen her race so many times on that frickin' auto-starting video I wish she's stop racing.
I thought I was the only one that grew to hate MC bc of that horrible repeating video. It's a nightmare!
Leaves Efraimson with a good shot at taking the HS 1500m/mile record this coming year.
Burned out, physically, emotionally or both, by Salazar's insane regimens.
She's out of Zurich 1500.
She'd been listed, but today she's not.
And Brenda Martinez has been excitedly tweeting she's IN the Zurich 15, so she's probably Cain's chosen replacement.
Earlier (at Pre??), she and AlSal had said she'd race twice in Europe, in Stockholm and Zurich.
She wasn't in Stockholm, but was listed for Zurich.
Now she's out of there too!
It's not school.
She'd said 2 months ago she'd probably miss the first 2 weeks of school.
Maybe she decided she didn't want to do that, or the school MADE her attend!!
But sure would have been nice if AlSal (or Mary!!) had announced to her breathless fans what the dirt is!!
Pregnant?
Doubt it, though she did admit to having a boyfriend with her at World Juniors!! (First time she'd mentioned a boyfriend!!)
It could be injury, but I think Salazar would have made a formal announcement about it.
Come on, Mary and/or Al. make some announcement!!
Maybe she decided to retract her Pro status and compete for the Pilots afterall - assuming that she could make the team.
Perhaps, now that she has a world title, she wants to wait until next year to race for a senior title. Will this week's race get her into that meet? (No).
Really not sure if it is anyone else's business but her and Alby. Why do people think Nike will be upset if she doesn't race a DL meet? - I'm sure that they have other things to worry about.
She never touches Twitter herself. As for racing, she just started college and so has a lot on her plate. What's the point of flying to Zurich for one meet in the middle of the week, finishing 6th or 7th under jet lag, and then flying back and facing a big backlog of work at school?
I would add that all of the Americans "enjoyed" a five or six week hiatus while everyone else competed in their national and regional championships. And most of the US runners were less than race sharp (except for Jenny, but even she didn't go sub 4) at Stockholm and Birmingham.
One might ask, also, why there were no quality meets in the US in late July through most of August? I'm sure Cain would have run in a couple of those.
She has already taken enough AP credits to graduate from Portland. Don't believe school will be very difficult.

You guys' obsession with an 18 year old girl is creepy. Just let her be a normal person for a while, she has a bright, hopefully long future of running ahead of her.
I never quite understand this viewpoint - she is an adult professional runner and probably the best american woman ever at her age. We're not supposed to follow her career closely? What sense would that make?
She is not a normal person and won't be as long as she is a WC finalist type runner.
Finally, we have no idea if she will have a long future ahead of her - all these runners are one wrong step away from ending their careers.
I really never looked at MC as a big strong powerful runner until this video. She has grown up.

A where are they performing next search function would be a wonderful addition to an Athletics focused website.

USAT&F should do this for Americans entered in every international meet. At minimum they must do it for On-US-Soil meets.

Great idea. The problem though is that runners are so last minute when it comes to racing. Also, you never know when they are going to back out or cancel.
For whatever reason, they lack the depndability of other sports. You KNOW that your favorite NBA team will be playing on specific dates. But with running, you never know who is really racing until the gun goes off.
Or some people just race too sparingly. I wish the USATF and sponsors would organize track a bit more. Make certain meets mandatory. Actually have an organized league like NFL, NBA, MLB, etc.
USADA where-about info could be used in addition to meet start lists.
I'm sure that type information has to be updated daily.
No more duck-certified meets this year?
Mark my words, Galen Rupp is a guaranteed DNS in Zurich.
