Right now I was thinking about my future high shool career and mileage and a chance (like anybody else) to get a college scholarship or run in college. I'm modestly talented and am planning on taking the "High HS mileage route" to run some good times HOPEFULLY. But would any college want me after going through a schedule of mileage below? I will be honest if I was a college coach I probably wouldn't want myself with low natural speed and be built up to a 70 or 75 average mpw as a senior. Any coaches insight would be great. Here is the ideal plan I was thinking throughout high school...thx
Freshman: 30 mpw leading up to XC
No winter base
Sophomore: Peak at 50 for 3 weeks after being in the 40s for a while b4 XC
Stay at 60 as long as possible
Junior: Average 65-70 all summer
Average 65-70 for track
Senior: Average 75 for XC
Maybe average a little more than XC
Remember this is only a very big prediction and goals for mileage.
