I have never done a marathon. Over the past four years I have done several half marathons. I was training for a marathon a year and a half ago and got up to a 20 mile training run, but then got injured. I swore off marathons for good.
BUT. I was just offered a slot in my dream marathon, the NYC marathon. 10 weeks away. My weekly base right now is 25 miles. Today I did a 10 miler. I could easily jump into a 13 miler and start to ramp up next week. And I would commit to taking the race easy, not pushing for a crazy fast time.
Is this doable?
