Why don't they just call it "track season"?
It would make sense if it was completed by mid/late November, as then it could help inform the NXN Selection Committee by providing further information to judge potential At-Large teams and general regional comparisons, but it doesn't make much sense to publish it AFTER NXN is over with, because by then we already have a national champion as determined by an actual XC race.
