Ran for high school and college, but I've always been used to doing very high mileage (over 70). Haven't ran in about a year, but I've stayed active so I'm in decent shape (of course, I'm not anywhere near to where I was when I was racing for college). Anyway, I'm trying to make a training plan for myself. The 5k I'm training for is about 23 weeks away, so I have more than enough time. Has anyone ever ran a sub-16 5k without going over 35 miles a week? Or does anyone know if this is doable?
Just a little bit of a background on me (in case it is needed): I have run under 16 before. Like I mentioned above, I ran for both high school and college. I am incorporating some weight lifting and circuit training in my training plan in order to become stronger and more efficient. And I am in my early-20s.If anymore info is needed, please let me know! Thanks!
