I have four good pairs of running shoes, now. Two Saucony and two Adidas. I've always liked Saucony, ever since the TC-84 model came out. I bought that one until they stopped making it, which really pissed me off. But Saucony still makes great shoes for my feet. But just this week I bought some new Adidas Supernova 6 Boost shoes when I caught them on a great sale in an Adidas store in Miraflores, Peru. I grabbed them right up, and the next day they were all sold out of that model. Today I took a four-mile run in my new Adidas, and here's a little review:
The upper fits like a comfortable sock, and the mesh is nice and breathable. I got the blue, silver and black ones. Beautiful shoes. Running in them was truly different from any other shoe I've tried. I ran on cement for most of the run, and these Boost shoes made it a pleasure. It felt like running on a smooth dirt road because of the excellent shock absorption. But any decent new running shoe should give you that. This was different--while the shoes softened the pavement, it wasn't like running in sand or on grass. You know that sinking feeling some running shoes give that actually takes energy FROM you and makes the run harder? If you've ever put a really pair of soft insoles in your old running shoes to try to extend the life of the shoes, maybe you know what I mean--they're soft alright, but they take your energy away. These Boost shoes give you the softness without sacrificing the springiness. So you get the cushion, but you also get excellent energy return, a combination I have never experienced before. Smooth ride, sufficient support, and not a rough spot or blister-inducing place to be found in the upper. I'm sold, and unless another company comes out with something as good and unique as this, Adidas Boost shoes will stay my favorites. I suggest everyone give them a try. And no, I don't work for Adidas, and I have no financial interest in the company. Great job, Adidas!
