Cally mccumber is the other girl. They also added Dani Miller from North wood University. Not sure where she grew up as far as high school, but a bunch of Michigan living girls.

You may be trolling but its true. That group is terrible for the development of an athlete.
Desiree Linden has done okay. How many WC Teams have included Melissa White or Dot McMahon? That Brian Sell kid seemed like he did a little developing. They have had a member on every WC Marathon team since Paris in 2003.
the problem is not hansons so much as the marathon - the training for that race is not normal athletic training - it chews up and spits out most people. Once in a while someone comes through it and succeeds - odds are against you tho.
Does hanson-brooks athletes only participate in marathons, then? No track runners or shorter road races?

Dani Miller isn't on the team, but Goethals and Mccumber are.

Rochester Michigan.
I think they have a viable training philosophy. Generally speaking they have 2 easy days, an SOS(something of substance) day, and so on. The 3 SOS days are Speed, tempo, and long run. So it's a 9 day cycle total. The easy days they double. The SOS days its just one session they do early in the morning, no double, but usually totals some high mileage.
The norm on easy days is 12-14 in the morning and 4-6 in the PM. Now, Brian Sell did more but that's just him. I think specifically its 80-99 minutes in the morning and 30-40 min in the evening. So for their guys it falls in that mileage range depending on how they feel. Like if a sub 220 guy is tired 14@7:00(98min) is easy, if he feels good then 14@6:30(91min).
They mention this in the Hansons Marathon Method in the section where the author felt like showing the reader what the elites do in comparison. I think their marathon cycle is 12 weeks or 16 weeks, not sure. Before that is just more general training, nothing specific.
They also have a rule, 3/2. Meaning no more than 3 marathons every 2 years. They like most people, take a 2 week break twice a year after their twice yearly peak. This means 3 of those 4 training cycles at most are for marathon, leaving 1 for 5k/10k track to keep in touch with the speed. So depending on the athlete, the goal is hit the track once a year or once every other year. Someone of Desi's caliber does 3/2 cuz she's more competitive nationally and internationally.
Dani Miller IS on the team.
Makes sense.. She can live at home and train.
Good grief! Try the pressures of a career? Running for Hanson's is like running for UW but living @ home. It's an extension of college with no freakin' classes.
This does not look like a good workout environment for any runner:
Were they bragging in that video that they did a workout in those conditions.....?
Seems like all they did was show possible semi-pro runners not to join their team.
Dani Miller is not on the team, she bugged Kevin Hanson to let her join in on the workouts until he let her tag along. She desperately wants to be, but never even broke 17 in the 5k. She is so far off of their standards it's comical.
but the photos of the workouts just got sexier now that Danielle is hanging with the club.
RIP: D3 All-American Frank Csorba - who ran 13:56 in March - dead
