Although I don't usually read Runner's World, I'm a sucker for the shoe review issue to see what's new. It's been a while since I've read one of these issues, and their recommendations baffled me. I couldn't find the latest flowchart they use online, but here's one from last year:

So because I run over 32 miles per week (what a weird dividing line) and don't want a minimal shoe and am not injury prone, I should be running in one of four random lightweight trainers.
The Pegasus (the shoe I've worn for over ten years) is most appropriate for someone running between 18-32 miles per week and is also best for someone with a low arch. Huh?
How did they come up with this BS? I mean, I know not to take RW too seriously, but if they're really trying to help runners, this chart is just about the least helpful thing they could publish. I would hate to be running store employees when new runners come through the door with this issue open to the flowchart. "But this says that's the wrong shoe for me..."
