How is it offensive?
Tomorrow night the Mount Vernon High School board will discuss whether to remove the school's Penn Relay Plaque because it is offensive.
I am wondering the same thing. Have the PC police struck again? Is this Mt. Vernon HS in Alexandria? What's the rationale?
Here is a photo of what it looks like:

http://news.pennrelaysonline.com/about-2/about-the-relays/The only thing I can think of is the nudity. If that's the case, you can only laugh. High schools nowadays will provide daycare for students with babies but lo and behold if they see a naked butt.
Both Mount Vernon of Alexandria and Mount Vernon of New York compete in the Relays.
Can't find any news stories about controversy involving either.
If it's the naked butts, sounds more like the Baptist police than the PC police.
It's offensive to sprinters as there are no visible packages.

"but lo and behold if they see a naked butt."
That's a very odd phrase. You sure that's what you wanted to type?
What is the guy at the back holding?
Four naked boys lining up to service Ben Franklin and people wonder what's offensive? Seriously?

Reads like a high school freshman stringing fancy phrases together without really knowing what they mean.
Then again, it is rojo, who routinely proves him.

lol, that's exactly what I thought when I saw it as well. Then again I probably see disgusting things in ink blots as well.

I try to be as open minded as any of my fellow libtards in LRC land but, Mr. Obvious - that is no baton!

Looks like one of those penis shaped batons
Looks like a club. I think he's going to roll Mr Franklin. Look out Ben!!!!
It's a human centipede.
Someone who earned that award should jump on the chance to take that thing home. If I were the coach I would gladly display that thing above the bar in my house. There's no greater prize (apart from a national championship) in all of amateur track and field ... and even that's debatable.
It's the butts. It only takes one tax payer to complain about something and they'll react no matter how stupid.
I don't find the award design particularly offensive, but I DO wonder why the athletes had to be depicted as naked. Even in Ben Franklin's day, I seriously doubt competitions were held in the nude. Seems a little strange to me.
I'm confused is it wrong to get awards naked? This is pretty much what my team does every Monday when coach gives out the athlete of the week shirts in the locker room. Coach says it's symbolic that we put on our AoM and racing singlets on as a team while naked.
They should just etch some bun huggers on those bare bums and be done with it.
