NCAA rules say ties aren't broken unless it is for advancement purposes. Conferences may use tiebreakers if they wish. The NCAA tiebreaker is scoring each team's top 5 head to head. So the first runners are compared to each other. If the first runner from Team A beats Team B, they get a point. This is repeated for the next 4 pairs. First to 3 points win.
