His performance, while celebrated on these boards, should be a disappointment for him personally. Here's a guy who has availability to the best facilities in the world, training with the Olympic double-gold medalist and Olympic silver medalist, and a bronze and silver 1500m medalist. It might seem like a big deal because he was a Non-African on the podium, but in reality he SHOULD have won. He got beat because he looked over his shoulder too many times and give up the best position in track and field on the homestretch: the inside lane! He got beat by a guy who's done nothing all year and another guy who hasn't shown his top form. Levins has prepared his whole season for this race, only to be upstaged by two second-tier africans who essentially 'winged it' for the 1-2 punch. Contrary to what people believe, his last lap was nothing new for him.
I, for one, leave this race disappointed. And I'm sure Mr. Levins does too.
