He beats 2 out of the 3 Kenyns. He gets the bronze, and he beats Cheruiyot and Kirui. Loses the gold by .12 seconds. Well done Cam.

That's a great result and shows he has developed a pro kick with NOP
Where is a link to the race. It looks like they kicked down well.
That is a big breakthrough for Levins. It is the first medal internationally, and the fact that he kicked with the winners, barely missing it at the line shows something.
55.3 last lap for Levins. He led from 220 out until 20 m to go.
And he got bumped wide with 550m to go which messed up his rhythm temporarily. Worth any time or finishing speed - who knows.
whatever disadvantage that provided was made up for - Cam actually rubbed the other runners off using one of the lapped runners with about 230m to go...you can see him accelerate to be the first to go around on the outside of the guy in blue. Bett and Kipsoro (who were on the inside of Cam) had to slow up and follow Levins around the guy. damn, what a finish. looked like gold with 80m to go!

Wow, Moses Kipsiro sure came back strong after a poor 5000m to take the 10000m gold! You will recall that Kipsiro is the guy who stood up against sexual harassment (or worse) in Ugandan athletics and was booted from a national team and then finally restored.
Cam moved off the rail sufficiently for Kipsiro to get through for the gold, a tactical mistake after a great and chaotic last lap with so many runners who didn't belong there refusing to move out of the way. Levins would have won silver if he had stayed on the rail there, but he was classy not to close him out when he was getting through. The best man won.
Great run by Levins, but I really had a deja vu the last lap. This exactly happened to me in a 1500m. Took the lead in the last bend. In last straight somebody was trying to pass me at the right. I was focused on him, but then in the last meters somebody passed me left. And the guy at the right also passed me.
However, that was a battle for the third place and at a whole different level.
Levins did everything great, but on the last bend he should have wait to use his final kick. But he cannot know that in the race of course.
I'd be disappointed to lose a race, that was 40 seconds slower than my best.

Since your best is pretty frickin slow, who really cares what you think.
At least he didn't make excuses though, like some people do.
This is great. IMO it's his best race since 2012 in college.
Such a nice guy.
Great to see

Levins was running 54-55 second last laps while he was at SUU.
