I just got back from a doctor's appointment and he basically told me to take a "few weeks" off of running and see where I stand. No diagnosis of what might be going on. I am turning to you.
About a month ago, I would get weird pains in my ankle when I was walking without shoes. Kind of on the back-inside of my ankle and shooting almost to my arch. It started when I was at the beach so I thought it might be from running in the sand, so I stopped doing that. It basically went away for about two weeks but then returned last weekend. It seems a lot worse and it absolutely KILLS me to walk down stairs. If I put any weight on it while walking downstairs it hurts really bad. Sometimes it doesn't hurt at all. It will come and go without and real pattern, but it is definitely worse when i am barefoot and when I am walking down stairs.
The odd thing is that I am still running, but the first 5 minutes or so of my run are awful. after that, it just goes away and doesn't really hurt until I stop running.
The only other thing I can thin to tell you is that it almost feels like I want to "pop" it. When it hurts, it just feels like I should be able to pop it back into place or something...
Anyway, anyone had anything like this?
