In the past couple weeks, I've been hitting my mileage goal, but my quads are constantly trashed and I can't hit anywhere near my goal paces in workouts (yesterday I was supposed to run 10 miles at 6 min/mile, but struggled to do 6:30 minute miles and had to abandon the workout at mile 5).
Should I just push through it and hit the mileage goals, or cut back for a week in order to freshen up my legs so I can hit goal paces during workouts? I'm 12 weeks out from my marathon and this week is supposed be my peak mileage for my training. Or, should I just run a couple miles each day and still run my 2 workouts for the week?
