If you have access to one, start running again on a treadmill. Then once you are sure the pain isn't still there, you can move back outside. If you don't have a treadmill to use, start by walking a minute and jogging a minute, and slowly increase the jogging portions until you are running the whole time again. Once I hit my 40s, calf strains became a recurring problem.
