I've been struggling with my running all summer. Anything other than a jog wears me out and I have a lot of trouble running paces that would be really easy a few months ago.
Normally, my hgb is around 16 and my hematocrit is 46-48. About six weeks ago, it dropped down to 14.1 and 41.0. I finally got my blood tests from two weeks ago and it was down to 37.9 and 12.8. My ferritin is highish and my TIBC is low.
Until my appointment with a gastro in a couple of weeks, I thought all the expert letsrun doctors might have some insight.
My absolute reticulocyte and reticulocyte count were both elevated and my alpha-2-globulins were low, which all can be the case with hemolytic anemia. There is a free clinic I can use through my work, so I thought I would see if I could get my haptoglobin tested sometime next week.
